Information We Collect
We collect the information you provide when you create an account, including your name, email address, and a unique user identifier (via Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In). We also collect child profile data you enter — first name and optional nickname. We store the content of messages you send within the app (1:1 parent chats and playdate group chats) in order to deliver and display them to recipients. No child photos, last names, or sensitive personal data are required.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to operate Playdate: creating connection requests between parents, facilitating playdate scheduling, and providing in-app messaging. We do not sell your data to third parties or use it for advertising.
Children’s Privacy (COPPA)
Playdate is designed for parents and caregivers — not for children to use directly. We collect minimal information about children (first name and nickname only) strictly for the QR connection feature. We do not collect contact information from children, and children’s data is never publicly displayed without authentication.
QR Code Security
Each QR code encodes a unique token. Scanning the QR with a generic camera app shows only a download prompt — no child information is revealed. Child nicknames are only visible to signed-in, authenticated users inside the Playdate app.
Data Storage
Your data is stored securely on AWS infrastructure (DynamoDB, hosted in the United States). We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted transit (HTTPS) and access controls.
Data Sharing
We share data only as needed to provide the service: with AWS (infrastructure), and with authentication providers (Google, Apple). We do not share personal information with other third parties.
Your Rights
You may delete your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at support@abostudio.pro. You may also delete individual child profiles from within the app.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notice. Continued use of Playdate after changes constitutes acceptance.
