1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading or using Playdate, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app. These terms apply to all users, including parents, caregivers, and anyone who accesses the service.
2. Eligibility
Playdate is intended for use by adults (18 years or older). You must be a parent or legal guardian to create child profiles. By registering, you represent that you are at least 18 years old.
3. Account Responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
4. QR Codes and Child Profiles
QR codes generated by Playdate are for connecting with other parents only. You agree not to share your child’s QR code publicly or in any context where it could be scanned by strangers outside your trusted network. You are responsible for the safe distribution of physical QR cards.
5. User Conduct
You agree not to use Playdate to harass, abuse, or harm others; to send spam or unsolicited messages; to impersonate any person; to violate any applicable laws; or to use the service for any commercial purpose without our written consent.
6. Free and Premium Plans
Playdate offers a free tier with up to 5 connections. The Premium plan ($6.99, one-time purchase) unlocks unlimited connections, playdates, and messaging. All purchases are final and non-refundable except as required by applicable law.
7. Content
You retain ownership of content you post (messages, profile information). By using Playdate, you grant us a limited license to store and display your content solely for operating the service. You agree not to post illegal, harmful, or inappropriate content.
8. Service Availability
We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue Playdate (or any part thereof) at any time with reasonable notice.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
Playdate is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free or that any defects will be corrected.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Playdate. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will provide notice of material changes in-app. Your continued use of Playdate after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance.
